Byte Prophecy delivers analytics and AI products that address significant gaps in decision-making that exists in the business industry today. Their products are determined by or dependent on the collection or analysis of data, which shows progress in an activity compelled by data rather than by personal experience.

A business is an organisation or enterprising entity engaged in commercial, industrial or professional activities. The primary purpose of a business is to maximise profits for its owners or stakeholders while maintaining corporate social responsibility.

Business KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) enable a company to measure and monitor its performance on a strategic and operational level. Based on strategic goals of a company, target values for KPIs are set. Comparing actual KPI values to these targets identifies shortcomings immediately and shows improvement potentials for business processes at the same time. This is vital for every company.

In today’s competitive market, digital businesses are always on the lookout for the next big thing to help streamline their business processes. The businesses are constantly generating new data and often have systems and people in place to monitor what is going on. Anomalies in one area often affect performance in other areas, but it is difficult for the association to be made if all departments are operating independently of one another. Anomaly detection is the identification of data points, items, observations or events that do not conform to the expected pattern of a given group.

The Platform.

MonitorFirst Control Tower has three essential capabilities for managing complex analytical and Big Data problems for Business Enterprises.

MonitorFirst is a defacto platform for metrics/KPIs that an enterprise collects, monitors and evaluates on a regular basis. It provides enterprise-wide visibility to KPIs considering individual user rights and interests.

MonitorFirst provides visibility to

Track each customer order

Provide the status of each batch on the production floor

Show consumer internet traffic patterns and usage

Product stocks at storage locations

MonitorFirst offers out-of-the-box capabilities providing insights that hitherto were the result of a long-drawn meeting, long email thread, recurring task or probably hidden in a slide deck.

MonitorFirst provides insights into

which plant need to send which material to what location

which product to produce on what machine

Which internet plan is profitable and what should be the next plan

What should be the stock at each storage location

which customers to focus today and why

For expedited time-to-impact, MonitorFirst offers pre-construct apps for KPIs on standard/templated industry data sources across e-commerce, healthcare, pharma, banking, manufacturing, and hospitality companies amongst others.

MonitorFirst Capabilities.

MonitorFirst brings out-of-the-box capability across AI, Big Data and Analytics. Today, the uses of AI in analytics in be boiled down to three categories of technology:

Automated Data Discovery

Automated data discovery encompasses a class of technologies that automate the process of data analysis and exploration in real-time. This includes everything from selecting data sets to explore, running queries automatically on your behalf, combing through results for insights, and choosing a best-fit visualization paired with a natural language description of each insight.

Search and Conversational Analytics

AI-powered search is transforming the way business people are interacting with enterprise information assets. AI-powered search makes it possible for business users ask a question either by typing it into a search bar or via a voice-driven assistant and get answers to net new questions back in seconds.

Intelligent Modelling and Recommendations

Data experts spend a significant amount of time profiling data and modelling relationships between data sets to answer specific business questions. AI-powered data modelling and recommendations can help cut down time spent on this kind of work by automatically generating statistics about data sets, inferring data types, identifying hierarchies and relationships within data sets, and dynamically aggregating data at query-time. This helps to create a new class of citizen data scientists and frees up time for data experts to focus on the work they enjoy most like sourcing new datasets and doing more sophisticated analyses like predictive analytics to help the business stay ahead of the curve.

Identifying User Requirements.

MonitorFirst Platform caters to business and sales & operation based users. In order to understand the user, questions were asked to gain an understanding.

How does the user feel about accepting digitizing your data analysis process?

Which format does the user prefer - Mobile, Desktop or Tab?

At present, how long does it take for the user to convert your data into insights?

How does the user decide when to implement a strategy in his/her company?

What steps does the user the to solve the business performance problems?

What platforms/products does the user use to view the insights of their products & services?

How often does the user travel?

Do the users require visualization of data? If yes, why?

How does the user map his/her competitors?

How much time does the user spend in planning & strategy to expand the business?

Shown below is the Value Proposition Map. The value proposition canvas has two sides - with the user mapping, the users understanding is clarified. With the value map, the value can be created for that user. A fit can be achieved between the two when one meets the other.

The value map describes the features of a specific value proposition in your business in a more structured and detailed way. It breaks the value proposition down into products, services, pain relievers and gain creators.

The user mapping is done to understand a specific customer segment in a more structured and detailed way. It breaks the customer segment down into job responsibilities, pain and gain points.

Problem Statement.

Today, most of the business industry derive analytics and insights through long and tedious meetings which at times do not give fruitful results. Some enterprises are stuck in a recurring task of monitoring and delivering insights which then get hidden in powerpoint presentations.

Dashboards focus on snapshots but not on the evolution Most of the insight delivering dashboards focus on snapshots of the visual charts or insight delivery. These cannot be further filtered to gain additional insights as most of the times they are not interactive or have certain limitations.

Charts and visuals are higher focus than the relevance of KPIs The data visualisations have a higher focus than the KPIs and what they can do for the company. In today’s business industry, setting targets and achieving them has become a vital part of the strategy process. The primary focus should be on the KPIs as that would give a proper meaning to the charts and visuals.

All enterprise KPIs not available at one place Presence of the entire list of KPIs across the enterprise is not easily available at one place along with the historical data.

Multi-platform constraint As the product is used across the enterprise, the ability to use it across multiple operating systems should be a possibility.

Manual Insights Most businesses run on generating insights manually, which is a long and tedious process. This can also be inaccurate at times.

Identifying Design Requirements.

After detailing out the problem statement, the design requirements for the product were identified.

Clean & Seamless Interface The goal of the product was to create a data-driven platform with an understandable and intuitive interface. As the product comprised of mostly data insights, it was a necessity to have consistency.

Insights from Data Visualisation The integration of charts and visuals would also be a part of the insight generation hence enriching the user experience.

Time is money The primary aim of the platform was to improve enterprise performance by providing automated insights, pushed to the user whenever necessary and to deliver data within seconds.

Storing history of KPIs Storage of the entire history of KPIs enables the user to retrieve any data value.

Data-driven product MonitorFirst is a data-driven product, so it was very important to keep in mind that at any point in time the amount of data could increase or decrease. Also, sizing, spacing, colour and the weight of the font placed a very important role in determining the level of importance.

Multi sectors possibility A possibility to use the same product for multiple business sectors such as Pharma, logistics, Finance, etc.

Product Architecture.

After understanding the users and their requirements, the Product Architecture was created which gave an idea of the flow of how the platform works.

Initial Versions.

Since Design is an ongoing process, this is how I reached the final version of MonitorFirst platform. They were iterations which were done keeping in mind the requirements of the client.

After the structure of the platform was created, the wireframes were made.

- The primary goal of the user was to see the KPIs of his/her company as easily as possible and to derive insights from it.

Final UI Screens.

After working on the wireframes, final screens were worked created. These were designed keeping in mind the requirements of the users and the TMS application.
